Rylan Clark and Kye found themselves in the bottom two after receiving the lowest amount of public votes.
Gary Barlow had predicted on Saturday night's show that Rylan would be leaving this week but he was proved wrong as Tulisa put a spanner in the works.
Over and out: Kye Sones was the latest singer to be kicked off the X Factor
RIP: Rylan was deemed the most entertaining act by Tulisa and was saved after the sing off
Armed with a ballad Kye belted out I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz. His mentor, Gary, watched on nodding his head in approval.
Kye took the battle to the audience as he walked towards the crowd with his pitch perfect rendition earning him a standing ovation.

The Essex based singer sand Kissing You by Des'ree and gave his best vocal performance of the show
Waiting in the wings: While Rylan sang his heart out, Kye watched on from the side of the stage with Dermot

Power house: Kye belted out Jason Mraz's I Won't Give You Up, and took the fight to the crowd
Tulisa caused controversy and opted to save the act she found most entertaining rather than the best vocal performer.
She said: 'Kye that was one of your best vocal performances tonight. When it come downs to it it's not just a singing competition, this is the X Factor.
What a way to go: Tulisa surprisingly backed Rylan even though he was not the better singer
Bad luck: After Kye was announced as the bottom ranked act, Rylan gave him a consoling hug
Cheerio: After the vote was sent to Deadlock, Kye was announced as the singer with the least amount of votes
With a draw, the decision was sent to deadlock and Kye was announced as the person with the lowest amount of votes.
The ousted former chimney sweep promised to use the platform that X Factor had given him to release an album which he was already writing.
Gary said on the Xtra Factor: 'It was horrible. The sing-offs have been crazy this year, I’ve lost two acts to Rylan. It’s going to be a funny show next week.'

Rita took to the stage in modest fashion wearing a baggy black sequined jacket with her blonde hair tussled delicately into shape.
Her performance didn't really heat up, however, until she removed her jacket and showed off her extremely shapely body.
