'It's not just a singing competition': Kye Sones is sent home as Tulisa calls Rylan Clark the entertaining act on X Factor

Even though Lucy Spraggan had withdrawn from the show, it was business as usual on X Factor and Kye Sones became the latest act sent home.
Rylan Clark and Kye found themselves in the bottom two after receiving the lowest amount of public votes.
Gary Barlow had predicted on Saturday night's show that Rylan would be leaving this week but he was proved wrong as Tulisa put a spanner in the works.

Rylan was first up in the sing-off and he performed Kissing You by Des'ree. With the crowd cheering him on, Rylan gave perhaps his best vocal performance ever but had stiff competition from Kye.
Armed with a ballad Kye belted out I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz. His mentor, Gary, watched on nodding his head in approval.
Kye took the battle to the audience as he walked towards the crowd with his pitch perfect rendition earning him a standing ovation.

With all their energy spent, the judges had to decide their fate, with Nicole Scherzinger first giving her backing to Rylan.
She said: 'After that performance you bring heart, so the act I'm sending forward is Kye.'
Gary said: The sing off was completely won by Kye tonight, but when you get put next to a real singer you cannot compete.'

Louis Walsh said: 'It was an amazing sing off. Kye I loved you sing off. I'm going to do the right thing and the act I have to send home is Rylan.'
Tulisa caused controversy and opted to save the act she found most entertaining rather than the best vocal performer.
She said: 'Kye that was one of your best vocal performances tonight. When it come downs to it it's not just a singing competition, this is the X Factor.

With a draw, the decision was sent to deadlock and Kye was announced as the person with the lowest amount of votes.
The ousted former chimney sweep promised to use the platform that X Factor had given him to release an album which he was already writing.
Gary said on the Xtra Factor: 'It was horrible. The sing-offs have been crazy this year, I’ve lost two acts to Rylan. It’s going to be a funny show next week.'

Earlier in the evening there was another battle going on between two professional acts.
Former guest judge Rita Ora performed Shine Ya Light, but she was thoroughly outshone by Gwen Stefani on Sunday night's X Factor.
No Doubt took to the stage as the second guest act but they were clearly the number one act after their engaging performance.

The band rocked out with Gwen strutting around with her svelte and toned tummy on show in a crop top and leather skirt which she wore with tartan trousers.
The American band performed Looking Hot and they certainly did with their pristine front woman looking remarkably good at 43.
Following their performance, Gwen said of James Arthur performing their song Don't Speak: 'It was really awkward but it was amazing , he did amazing.'

Rita Ora had done her best to impress the audience but the former guest X Factor judge simply could not compete with the expertise of No Doubt.
Rita took to the stage in modest fashion wearing a baggy black sequined jacket with her blonde hair tussled delicately into shape.
Her performance didn't really heat up, however, until she removed her jacket and showed off her extremely shapely body.

Rita, 21, wore a black crocheted catsuit that was littered with holes in all the right places and protected her modesty.
The chart topping singer also sang the praises of James Arthur and said that there was something special about his voice.
